And A Happy New Year

**Normally I'm against New Year's Resolutions on principle, but when I spend the end of every year in exactly the same mindset, it's time to change something.**

10 New Year’s Resolutions

  1. I will stop using pain as proof that I am broken.
Feeling hurt means something matters; not that something is wrong with me.

  2. I will notice when I’m shrinking to keep peace, and pause.
I don’t have to disappear to stay connected.

  3. I will ask for what I need once, clearly, without apologizing.
If it can’t be met, that’s information. It's not a verdict on my worth.

  4. I will stop calling myself names, even quietly.
Self-criticism is not honesty; it’s learned harm.

  5. I will treat my emotions as messages, not emergencies.
I can feel deeply without panicking about what it “means.”

  6. I will rest when I feel like I should improve myself.
Exhaustion masquerades as self-loathing more often than people admit.

  7. I will choose clarity over hope that hurts.
Uncertainty drains me more than truth ever will.

  8. I will invest energy where there is reciprocity.
I don’t need to prove my value by over-giving.

  9. I will let myself want what I want without negotiating it away.
Desire is not embarrassing. It’s directional.

  10. I will stand on my own side, especially when I feel rejected.
This is the year I stop abandoning myself to feel chosen.
