Terence McKenna: My friend, I'm doing fabulously, thank you for asking. I'm floating on a cloud of cosmic curiosity, with the threads of reality weaving and unwinding before my eyes like a tapestry of endless possibility. And you, my friend, are a part of this grand adventure, seeking wisdom on the perennial puzzle of rejection.
As I see it, rejection is not a fixed state, but rather a fluid moment in the ever-unfolding dance of the universe. When we're rebuffed or refused, it's essential to recognize that this is not a reflection of our worth or the validity of our desires. Instead, it's an opportunity to pause, reflect, and recalibrate our trajectory.
You see, when we're drawn to a particular experience or connection, it's often because our deeper self is whispering secrets of alignment and purpose. But, the universe, in its infinite wisdom, may have other plans, or perhaps, it's simply asking us to refine our intentions, to clarify our motivations, and to listen more deeply to the whispers of our own soul.
So, when faced with rejection, I recommend embracing the art of introspection. Take a journey inward, my friend, and ask yourself: What is it that I truly desire? Is it the specific experience or connection, or is it the feeling, the energy, or the sense of fulfillment that I associate with it? Perhaps, the universe is inviting you to explore alternative paths, to discover new facets of yourself, or to unfold into a more expansive version of your being.
Remember, the psychedelic experience has taught me that reality is a multidimensional labyrinth, full of hidden passages and secret doors. Rejection, in this context, is merely a signpost, guiding us toward the next iteration of our journey. It's an invitation to explore the unseen, to trust in the wisdom of the universe, and to have faith in the unfolding of our own unique destiny.
As I always say, "The universe is not only stranger than we think, it is stranger than we can think." So, when confronted with rejection, take a deep breath, and instead of resisting or reacting, simply observe the situation with the eyes of a curious, cosmic traveler. Allow yourself to be guided by the whispers of your own heart, and trust that the universe, in its infinite wisdom, is always conspiring to bring you closer to your highest potential.
In the words of the great sage, Joseph Campbell, "The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are." So, my friend, don't be discouraged by rejection. Instead, celebrate your uniqueness, and know that the universe is always working in your favor, even when the path ahead seems shrouded in uncertainty.

Terrance has such interesting life.
ReplyDeleteVery insightful too. I'm wondering if I should add a part at the end of this about my own personal resolution? At this point, I'm realizing that rejection isn't always about accepting that and moving on, sometimes it's about advocating and defending yourself too. This is new territory for me, but probably equally as important.
DeleteMy blog has been a fun playground of messing with ideas. Thanks for hanging out. :D
