Episode 4 - Between Lightning and Granite

Episode 4 - Between Lightning and Granite

It was a dark and stormy night. In the shadows, something lurks after its prey......

Thankfully, two people heard the screams for help in between the loud blasts of lightning and the steady downpour of rain. Senate, Vicky, and the good boy, Lobo, rushed to Chimpanzee's aid. Relieved and grateful, Chimpanzee wants to join.

Chimpanzee Xetranmi

Greatly affected by a childhood trauma, Chimpanzee stopped speaking, preferring the company of animals. The 14 year old doesn't speak much now, but will often be found hunting or caring for the colony's many animals.

Oh my. Furr was talking about the colony's ideas, when Tarsier, sensing that there was an attempt to convert her, was sent into a rage.

Lightning struck far from the village, but the fire has found its way here. No one speaks. They just move silently, buckets passed, water flung, hands burning. Smoke stinging their eyes as trees fall around them. The fire is close now to the village. Too close. But still, no one speaks, they just fight.

With the fire calmly tamed, Tarsier departs. It’s probably for the best. Ever since she beat up our beloved Furr (who, to be fair, put up a good fight), people had started looking at her a little differently.

There's a theory the colonists love to speculate about on the quiet evenings around the dining room table. What if there was some random god up there, perhaps named Randy, who kept throwing down transport pods like candy, filled with people, food, items, just to see how the colony might react to the drama?

Nah....

Vicky does her thing, and saves Aaron's life.

Of course Aaron joins us, and barely recovered from his injuries, jumps immediately to work.

Aaron Schwartz

Aaron had very overprotective parents as he was growing up. They encouraged him to stay home and hide from others. Though he had a lot of time to read and work on crafting skills, he never developed social skills. Not until his parents died in a tragic accident, and he was adopted by a nearby tribe, did he learn how good other people could be. Because of his quiet wisdom and strength, Aaron became the spiritual leader of his people, with a strong connection to animals, especially the muffalo. A 49 year old in body, but 260 years of insight that he enjoys to share with others.

We are tasked with a very strange request by the Satraga Tribe. Not sure of any reason to decline, because sure, we have a lot of extra granite blocks laying around (Microi loves processing granite chunks into useable blocks for us). We will make your building to your exact.... specifications.

Construction persists.

Winter turns three!

Our beloved Winter in an endless Summer.

And construction continues to persist.

Our colony so far:
